Meet Carole
I am an integrative arts psychotherapist and supervisor (UKCP, HCPC , BAAT, MBACP registered), running a private practice with both online and in-person appointments available in Battersea, London.
My focus is on healing relational trauma, holistic health and in soulful living. My approach is informed by neurobiology, supporting the reduction of stress, anxiety, depression and psychosomatic issues.

The body is art in motion and creativity is how we adapt to life
My practice is trauma-informed through advanced trainings in somatic body psychology with the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute from America (British Psychological Society approved, level II graduate) and psychosexual somatics therapy. Trauma can shatter a sense of feeling safe and out of awareness the body scans for danger. In my work, I take account of the impact on hidden relational stress on the mind, body and spirit. I build mindfulness, resources and curiosity. I do so with permission, in collaboration and over time, listening carefully to how our bodies communicate, both in silence and through verbal cues.

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”

Holistic recovery for gaining health from eating distress
As a former psychotherapist for patients within St George’s Hospital’s NHS Eating Disorders Service, I am experienced in enabling journeys of recovery. Through taking part in doctoral studies, I have created a holistic health model charting the disruption of trauma on food practices, and how creativity offers a doorway to change. This approach is informed by contemporary Ayurveda, an ancient healthcare system that promotes holistic lifestyle practices and robust digestion. My registration is with the Ayurvedic Professionals Association (APA).

Love and loss are inextricably entwined, spanning all emotions
I am a qualified End of Life Doula, a trained companion for individuals during the dying process and certificated by Living Well Dying Well (LWDW). In many ways, facing death can unleash life, yet it can be the loneliest of places without hands to hold. In my work I seek metaphorically to redress this imbalance with sensitivity and care.

Offering a calm, grounded and supportive presence
I have a Diploma in Integrative Supervision from The Minster Centre, London, and run clinical supervision groups for Sutton Women’s Centre, a charity supporting women with complex trauma. This is underpinned by ten years’ experience of teaching and assessing accredited neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) [link] and Counselling and Psychotherapy Awarding Body (CPCAB) counselling programmes up to Diploma and Masters level.

Meaningful connections through joining dots
In my first career, I worked as a public relations consultant before moving over to education and coaching. Growing up, my family lived abroad, so I attended schools in West Africa, America and England. My first degree is from the University of Nottingham (Politics BA Hons) and my Masters (Integrative Arts Psychotherapy – Distinction) is from IATE, London, gained in 2011.
